The RAS-24 is a modular 24-bit, high resolution, signal
enhancement seismograph designed for shallow refraction and reflection
surveys. Based on a "distributed" approach, like larger seismic systems
used for oil and gas surveys, the RAS-24 combines state-of-the-art 24-bit
conversion with a flexible, expandable architecture that provides the
ease of use of a conventional seismograph with the advantages of a distributed
system.
Connect one RAS-24 to a laptop and you have a very portable 24-channel seismograph for refraction or reflection. Connect ten units together in a line and you have a 240-channel, 2D line complete with roll.

 Rearrange
those same ten units and you have a ten line, 24 channel/line 3D spread.
No special hardware is required for any of these configurations. The system
software manages the roll for 2D and the active portion of the spread
for 3D operation so no roll switches or CDP cables are required. |

The RAS graphic control program runs on nearly any notebook computer with Windows 95 or 98. It provides full control and graphic display of recording, extensive self tests, 2D and 3D roll, observers log, and saving data in SEG-2 and SEG-D formats. |
| The RAS-24 provides an extensive array of tests to ensure that the system is functioning properly and that your data is being accurately recorded. Test results are graphically displayed and automatically logged to disk. Tests include: amplifier noise, dynamic range, A/D offsets, amplifier pulse, CMR, timing accuracy, crosstalk, sine wave, phase similarity, gain similarity, geophone resistance, geophone pulse, geophone similarity, and cable leakage tests, the RAS-24 can easily locate geophone and cable problems before they affect your data. |
